Sinner Alcaraz Rome Atp Final

ROME, Italy — Jannik Sinner is set to face Carlos Alcaraz on Sunday in the final of the 2025 ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome, with play scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. CEST (11:00 a.m. EDT). This matchup marks the continuation of a fierce rivalry, where Alcaraz leads their head-to-head series 6-4.

Sinner, competing in his first tournament since winning the Australian Open in January, has performed strongly in Rome, dropping just one set on his road to the final. He secured his spot by defeating No. 12 seed in the semifinals with a score of 1-6, 6-0, 6-3.

Alcaraz reached the final after defeating Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 7-6 (4). The Spanish player, currently ranked No. 1 by the PIF ATP Rankings, aims to win his second ATP Masters 1000 title of the season after his victory at the Monte Carlo Masters.

This upcoming match is particularly significant for Sinner, as he seeks to become the first Italian man to win the tournament since Adriano Panatta in 1976. “He’s playing great. I’ve been watching his matches,” said Alcaraz of Sinner. “Every time that I play against him, it’s always a battle.”

Despite suffering from a small blister under his foot, Sinner is confident heading into the final. “There are no excuses. With the adrenaline, there’s just going to be a lot of energy on Sunday,” he stated. “I’m 100% not concerned.”

Fans will be out in full force to support Sinner, many donning orange wigs and hats in homage to their player. The excitement builds as the match draws near, marking a key moment before the French Open starts on May 25.
