Jalen Ramsey Trade Rumors Nfl

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers are not pursuing a trade for cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who is reportedly on the trading block before the start of the 2025 NFL season. Ramsey, a seven-time Pro Bowler, has generated interest from multiple teams, but the Packers have chosen to focus on their current roster.

The urgency surrounding Ramsey’s potential trade stems from the key date of June 1, when teams can minimize future cap space penalties. If the Miami Dolphins trade Ramsey after this date, it would only cost them $6.7 million against the cap for 2025.

Earlier this month, ESPN‘s Jeremy Fowler reported that the Dolphins are actively discussing trading Ramsey. He mentioned that several NFC teams are interested, highlighting that the Packers are not among them. This lack of interest raises concerns about the Packers’ strategy concerning their current talent.

The Packers have been exploring options regarding cornerback Jaire Alexander, who is reportedly on the trade block himself. Contractually, Alexander is due $17.5 million in 2025, which complicates the team’s financial planning as he has missed considerable time due to injury. Sources suggest that Green Bay may be hesitant to pay this amount, especially if they cannot restructure Alexander’s deal.

Without pursuing Ramsey, the Packers appear to be all-in on Alexander, although his future remains uncertain. If negotiations do not proceed as planned, the team will need to rely on younger cornerbacks, such as Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine, which may leave their cornerback depth looking thin for the upcoming season.

While the Dolphins look to make a major roster change, the Packers’ decision not to target Ramsey may ultimately reshape their defensive strategy leading into training camp.
