Conor Mcgregor Press Conference Comeback

ROME, Italy – Conor McGregor, the former two-division UFC champion, is confident about his return to the octagon after over four years away from competition. McGregor last fought in July 2021, losing a trilogy match against Dustin Poirier after suffering a severe leg injury.

Since that fight, McGregor has made headlines for various reasons. In 2024, he was busy promoting his role in the film ‘Road House.’ Earlier this year, he hinted at a presidential run in Ireland but withdrew after failing to gain support. Additionally, he faced legal troubles, being found liable for sexual assault in a civil suit related to a 2018 incident in Dublin.

Recently, Combat Sports Anti-Doping reported McGregor missed notifying them of his location on three occasions, raising concerns about his readiness to return. Despite these challenges, the 37-year-old fighter spoke at a press conference in Italy about the spiritual journey he has undertaken.

“For sure, I am not here just by chance,” McGregor said. “There is a higher power, God, that dictates my journey. I’ve engaged in a spiritual journey, and I’m saved. I am healed. My competitive spark that once was in my heart is now a roaring blaze.”

McGregor has not disclosed the specific changes he’s made in preparation but emphasized his determination to return. He was previously slated to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June 2024 but had to withdraw due to a broken toe.

BKFC founder David Feldman praised McGregor for his personal growth, stating, “A lot of people need to make changes in their life and they don’t because they lack the fortitude. I commend Conor for making the kinds of changes he had to make.”

McGregor has expressed interest in a comeback at the upcoming UFC White House event scheduled for June 14, 2026. However, UFC CEO Dana White clarified that no booking has been made for McGregor at that event.
