LOS ANGELES, CA — Gypsy-Rose Blanchard and her partner Ken Urker are celebrating their first Christmas as parents with their daughter, Aurora, born earlier this year. On Thursday, December 25, Urker posted a heartwarming moment on his Instagram Stories featuring the nearly 1-year-old Aurora playing with a family member. He captioned the post, ‘My baby love’s first Christmas.’

Blanchard, 34, who gained public attention as a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, welcomed her daughter on January 1, 2025. Urker marked the occasion on social media, posting a photo of Blanchard cradling their newborn with the caption, ‘Welcoming 2025 with the greatest gift of all 👼.’

The couple first met as pen pals while Blanchard was incarcerated for her involvement in the death of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. They briefly got engaged in October 2018, but broke up shortly after. After reuniting in August 2019 and eventually separating again, they rekindled their romance in April 2024.

In a recent interview, Blanchard shared her hopes for the future, expressing her desire to have another child. However, she mentioned that their plans are not yet finalized. ‘As of right now, we have not made any solidified plans. We hope to do IVF sometime in the near future, but right now all our focus is on Aurora,’ Blanchard explained.

Blanchard also stated that she wants to allow some time before adding another child to their family. ‘Possibly the middle of next year,’ she said about when they might consider having another baby. ‘That’ll give us time to settle into these new changes. Ken has a new career field that he entered.’

Despite the potential for another child, Blanchard emphasized the importance of adjusting to their current role as parents. ‘I think we just want to have a little bit of an age gap, but not too big. I can handle a toddler and a newborn, but not a baby and a newborn,’ she shared.

Although the couple has been considering adding to their family, they are not in a hurry. Blanchard explained, ‘We did go as far as to have the pre-testing done and then put it on pause for a few months. Pre-testing is pretty simple. They run bloodwork and analysis to let you know what your fertility looks like.’
