Abia Warriors Secure Victory Over Kano Pillars In Npfl Match

Abia Warriors displayed sheer resilience as they secured a significant victory over Kano Pillars in a thrilling Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match.

The intense encounter took place at the iconic Sani Abacha stadium and saw a significant turnout of enthusiastic fans.

Midfielder Daniel Ijeh emerged as the hero for Abia Warriors, sealing the win with a remarkable long-range goal in the 79th minute.

Despite the pressure from Kano Pillars to equalize, the Abia Warriors defense held firm, denying their opponents the chance to level the score.

Following the match, Abia Warriors’ coach Bethel Orji praised his team for their outstanding performance against a formidable opponent like Kano Pillars.

He acknowledged the challenging nature of the game and lauded his players for their tenacity and fighting spirit throughout the match.

In contrast, Kano Pillars’ coach Abdu Maikaba attributed the loss to what he perceived as poor officiating by the match referee.

Maikaba expressed dissatisfaction with the officiating, particularly referencing the controversial corner kick that led to Abia Warriors’ winning goal.

Despite the defeat, Maikaba commended his players for their efforts and resilience on the field and promised to address the team’s shortcomings in future matches.

At the end of the game, Daniel Ijeh, Abia Warriors’ goal scorer, was honored with the Man-of-the-Match award by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano Chapter, further solidifying his impact in the game.
