Adam Sandler Confirmed to Return in Netflix’s ‘Happy Gilmore 2’

Netflix announced during its Upfronts presentation that the long-awaited sequel to the beloved 1996 golf comedy ‘Happy Gilmore‘ is officially in the works.

Adam Sandler, the original star of the film, is set to return for ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ on the streaming platform.

The original movie followed Sandler’s character, Happy Gilmore, a former ice hockey player with anger management issues who discovers he has a talent for golf.

In ‘Happy Gilmore,’ Sandler’s character competes in a golf tournament to save his grandmother’s house from foreclosure while facing off against his rival, Shooter McGavin, played by Christopher McDonald.

Julie Bowen and Carl Weathers also starred in the original film.
