Billy Idol Announces Tour Stop in Moncton to Celebrate 40th Anniversary of ‘Rebel Yell’
Billy Idol, the iconic rock star from the 1980s music scene, is set to make a stop in Moncton this summer.
The North American tour, Idol Live, will be taking over Centre Avenir on Wednesday, August 21st.
This concert series by the British artist aims to commemorate the 40th anniversary of his renowned album ‘Rebel Yell‘.
Hits like ‘Rebel Yell’, ‘Flesh for Fantasy‘, and ‘Eyes Without a Face‘ propelled Billy Idol to sell two million albums in the U.S. and 500,000 in Canada.
A limited number of VIP tickets will go on sale this Tuesday on the artist’s website and through Ticketmaster.
Regular tickets will be available starting this Friday.
Hailing from Stanmore near London, Billy Idol has also announced the release of a reissue of his ‘Rebel Yell’ album at the end of April.
The musical work will be offered in DVD format, vinyl record, and limited edition vinyl record.
Having moved to the U.S. in the early 1980s, Billy Idol recounts in his biography landing in a dingy Manhattan apartment with just a mattress on the floor and a black-and-white TV.
However, his story soon took a brighter turn as he ended the decade with multiple platinum albums and sold-out tours worldwide.
Tales of risk-taking and high-speed thrills on the road, alongside some unhealthy lifestyle habits, almost cost Billy Idol his life in February 1990 following a tragic motorcycle accident.
