Atlanta Braves Block Party Summerhill Opening Day

ATLANTA, Ga. (AP) — The Atlanta Braves are returning to their roots for Opening Day with a block party in Summerhill on March 27, 2025, coinciding with their season opener against the San Diego Padres in California.

The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m. ET, just prior to the first pitch scheduled for 4:10 p.m. Fans gathering at Georgia Avenue can expect a lively atmosphere with large screens set up at designated locations for game viewing.

“We may have moved our home base to Cobb County, but Summerhill will always be a special place for the Braves and our fans,” said Braves spokesperson Jamie Smith.

The block party will feature various activities, including live performances, lawn games, and food options from local restaurants. The Braves’ mascot, Blooper, along with the Heavy Hitters and the Tomahawk Team, will also make appearances, adding to the excitement.

Parking will be available at the Georgia Avenue lot for $10, conveniently located near Summerhill Publix for those attending the event.

For fans unable to attend the block party or travel to San Diego, Atlanta residents can watch the game for free on Atlanta’s CW Network or through various platforms such as YouTube TV and cable providers including Dish Network, DirecTV, Xfinity, and Spectrum.

As a nod to team spirit, the Braves encourage fans to wear their Braves gear and use the hashtag “Rep the A” on social media to show their support.

The Braves previously called Turner Field home from 1997 to 2016 before relocating to Truist Park, which opened in 2017. Turner Field is now operated by Georgia State University as Georgia State Stadium.
