Providence Bruins’ head coach Ryan Mougenel commended Merkulov’s growth and development, praising his commitment to playing without the puck and to the team system.
Another prospect making his mark is goaltender Brandon Bussi, who has been stellar between the pipes for the P-Bruins. Bussi has won his last five starts and boasts an impressive .936 save percentage in his last three appearances. Coach Mougenel is impressed with Bussi’s dedication to his team and his ability to make key saves when needed.
Two other prospects, Johnny Beecher and Mason Lohrei, have recently been reassigned to Providence. In their first game back, Beecher and Lohrei made an instant impact, contributing to the team’s victory. Beecher scored a goal early in the second period, while Lohrei sealed the win with an overtime goal. Coach Mougenel is pleased with their performance, noting their potential for success in the NHL.
