Emily Nutley, a 42-year-old married mother of three, has been indicted on six charges of sexual battery for her alleged sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student at St Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Nutley, who joined the all-boys school in the fall semester of 2023 as a teacher and supervisor of a program for students needing academic support, is accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with the student who was part of her program.

The allegations include exchanging sexually explicit text messages and nude photographs, as well as physical encounters. According to Hamilton County prosecutors, the relationship became physical in mid-November 2023, with incidents occurring both on and off the school campus, including in Nutley’s office after hours.

The school conducted an internal investigation and passed the information to the Springfield Township Police, leading to Nutley’s indictment. Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers emphasized that this case constitutes child sexual abuse and vowed to prosecute it fully to ensure justice is served. If convicted, Nutley faces up to 15 years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender.

Nutley has been fired from her position at St Xavier High School. The school’s president, Tim Reilly, stated that the school believes the incident to be isolated and expressed commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for the entire school community.

Nutley is scheduled to appear in court on November 8, according to court records.
