Coronation Street Star Paula Lane Makes Explosive Debut in Emmerdale
Former Coronation Street star Paula Lane has made her explosive debut in the hit soap Emmerdale. Returning to our screens after an eight-year absence, the Yorkshire-born actress revealed on This Morning that her hints about wanting to join the show had paid off. Lane, who is best known for her role as Kylie Platt in Coronation Street, expressed her excitement about being part of Emmerdale, saying, ‘The Dales is just beautiful, it’s stunning but it’s baltic! I’ve grown up watching it, my family are big fans.'”
Ella Forster, Lane’s new character in Emmerdale, made a dramatic entrance by pouring a pint of beer over her boss’s head and calling him a ‘whinging scrotum’. In her debut episode, Ella, a PA to a loud-mouthed and bossy managing director called Jules, couldn’t tolerate his bullying any longer, especially when he mocked fellow character Mandy Dingle’s outfit choice. Ella immediately struck up a friendship with Mandy, portrayed by Lisa Riley, as the two bonded over their shared animosity towards Jules.
Speaking about her new role, Lane revealed potential storylines, hinting at a love triangle and teasing a potential romance for her character. She also confirmed that Ella would be working at the new GP surgery, placing her at the heart of the village.
Emmerdale fans were ecstatic to see Lane back on their screens, flooding social media with messages of support. One enthusiastic fan tweeted, ‘Got a very strong feeling that Ella is going to become one of my favorite British soap opera characters.’ Another user praised Lane’s performance, tweeting, ‘You were outstanding.’
