Damiano David Prepares for First Solo World Tour with New Album

LOS ANGELES, CA — Damiano David, the lead singer of the Italian band Måneskin, is set to embark on his first solo world tour this year. Announcing his debut solo album, FUNNY little FEARS, David prepares to take the stage across five continents, showcasing his artistry beyond the band that made him famous.
Since Måneskin’s rise to fame with their Eurovision Song Contest 2021 win, David has captivated audiences with his powerful voice and striking stage presence. This new chapter allows him to explore his personal sound and creativity. “With the band, it was always about throwing stuff in, and we tried to meet each other in a mid-way point. Whereas being solo, it is more about me digging into everything I have in my bag,” David explained.
The artist recently reflected on the challenges of going solo, expressing both excitement and apprehension. “I didn’t know what my solo style was going to be, but I knew that I had a couple of music genres that felt comfortable doing… it’s fresh territory for me,” he said, looking out at the palm trees against the LA skyline.
Diving into his album, David describes FUNNY little FEARS as a journey into love and self-discovery. One track in particular, “Next Summer,” deals with the struggle of letting go of painful memories. “It’s something that a lot of people do, like, holding onto the last remnant of something, even if it’s bad, because it’s the last connection that we have to that moment in our life,” he noted.
Despite the themes of his music, David maintains a focus on happiness and health in his personal life. “I don’t believe in the idea that you have to be sad to write good music—I think you actually have to be happy,” he asserted. David emphasizes the importance of creativity stemming from a place of healing rather than pain.
The artist also contemplates his career path, revealing a desire for balance in his life. “I think I’m very tied to normal things, simple things, like time with my family and friends,” he remarked, adding that he avoids becoming trapped in the glamor of fame. His reflections highlight a commitment to authenticity and a grounded approach to both life and music.
As David moves forward with his solo career, he remains focused on growth and self-fulfillment rather than external validation. “What FUNNY little FEARS is doing for me is really letting go of that, because I’m really not concerned about how much success this record is going to get,” he said. “It’s really for me to be satisfied, and to look back at what I did and to be proud of it.”
