Dead And Company Concert Performance Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Dead & Company ignited the Sphere on March 21, 2025, as they kicked off their 18-show run with an electrifying performance that electrified an audience of 17,000 fans. Opening the night, the supergroup led by John Mayer launched into an energetic rendition of “Cold Rain and Snow,” setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.

Mayer’s vocal prowess and guitar skills shone throughout the show, particularly complemented by the stellar rhythm section of percussionists Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart. Hart received much acclaim for his percussion mastery, but it was Oteil Burbridge’s thunderous performance that left the crowd raving.

The high-voltage energy from the opening number seamlessly transitioned into the funky beat of “Shakedown Street,” highlighting the cutting-edge visuals from the Sphere’s massive 16K LED screens, which transported fans from the iconic Haight-Ashbury district to outer space. The intensity during these opening tracks was markedly more engaging than during Thursday’s opener. The band further elevated the audience’s excitement with a powerful version of “Cumberland Blues,” celebrating the legacy of the Grateful Dead as visuals of legendary venues flooded the screens.

The first set concluded with a memorable performance of “Sugaree,” which marked the strengthening bond between the musicians and their fans. A brief intermission was followed by the soothing strains of fan favorite, “Uncle John’s Band.” Despite a slight dip in intensity in the second set, Dead & Company effectively entwined their classic repertoire with choreographed visuals, creating a sensory feast.

From the animated dancers during “Uncle John’s Band” to artistic renditions of roses during “Estimated Prophet,” the visual spectacle kept fans mesmerized. The show came full circle as the night ended with a heartfelt rendition of “Casey Jones,” leaving fans eagerly anticipating the next night’s performance.

With the setlist focused on classics intertwined with visual artistry, the concert proved to be more than just a musical experience; it was an immersive journey through the storied history of the Grateful Dead’s music.
