Los Angeles Dodgers Game Highlights 2025

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Dodgers are reeling after their third consecutive series loss, falling 4-2 to the Chicago Cubs Sunday. After starting the season with an impressive 8-0 record, the team has faltered, posting a disheartening 3-6 record in their last nine games.

Manager Dave Roberts remains optimistic despite the downturn, stating, “I’m not overly concerned right now, given where we’re at on the calendar.” His team’s recent struggles come after a strong season opening, where they averaged more than 5 runs per game. However, in this latest stretch of losses, the Dodgers have managed to score a meager three runs per game.

The irregular offense has left the talented roster, featuring stars like Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts, notably underwhelming. “We have more guys scuffling than guys that are feeling really good at the plate,” said Betts, as he and Ohtani have not performed to their full potential during the team’s recent slump.

Offensive woes were starkly displayed in Sunday’s game against the Cubs. Starting pitcher Colin Rea managed to limit the Dodgers’ hits, allowing only one run through six innings. “We just haven’t gotten synced up offensively,” Roberts said, emphasizing the need for improved team at-bats. The team has faced difficulties with chasing pitches and failing to generate significant offense.

Notably absent from the lineup was first baseman Freddie Freeman, who was given a scheduled day off after recently returning from the injured list. The team’s performance without him has raised concerns about their ability to maintain offensive intensity. Freeman has only played in seven of the Dodgers’ 17 games this season due to ongoing ankle issues, impacting the team’s overall production.

In contrast, Tyler Glasnow delivered a solid six-inning performance, striking out seven batters and allowing just two runs on two home runs. Despite his strong outing, Glasnow left the game with the Dodgers trailing. “He’s coming into today with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder,” Roberts noted about Glasnow’s positive mindset following a previous rough start.

The Dodgers are now heading into a crucial three-game series against the Colorado Rockies, with an urgent need to capitalize on weaker pitching and restore offensive momentum. “We’re going to snap out of it and start steamrolling people,” Hernández vowed, though rising concerns about the team’s current slump remain palpable.

As they reflect on their early-season success, fans and players alike are clamoring for a return to peak form before it translates into further losses. With the weight of expectation pressing on them, the Dodgers must regroup and aim for a quick turnaround in their upcoming matchups.
