Goretzka’s ties to Bochum run deep, having commenced his footballing endeavors with the club’s youth team at the tender age of 6 before transitioning to the senior squad in 2012. His subsequent stints at FC Schalke and FC Bayern only bolstered his career.

Despite experiencing a somewhat lackluster season personally and witnessing disappointment with Bayern’s league results, Goretzka’s loyalty to his former club remains unwavering.

For VfL Bochum, the stakes are high as they battle to secure their place in the league following a dip that led to their relegation zone position at the Bundesliga season’s conclusion.
