U2 Extends Virtual Concert Film at Sphere Las Vegas Through February
U2 is extending its innovative concert film experience, “V U2 An Immersive Concert Film at Sphere Las Vegas,” through the end of February 2025. The show, which was initially set to run until the end of December, has added 22 more dates, with the final show scheduled for February 27. The concert times vary between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., and tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
The concert film captures U2’s sold-out series from September 2023 through March 2024, which was part of the venue’s launch. This series drew over 700,000 fans across more than 40 performances. The film is the first concert production shot using Sphere’s advanced Big Sky high-res camera system and Holopolot Immersive Sound System, and it features haptic, or “shaking,” seats to enhance the audience experience. The seating capacity for the show is approximately 5,000 fans.
In addition to U2’s extended run, The Eagles continue as primary headliners at Sphere through March. Meanwhile, a Sphere-styled adaptation of “The Wizard of Oz” is in development, slated for a May premiere in the second quarter of 2025, with reports indicating a production cost of $80 million.
The Sphere in Las Vegas remains a hub for innovative entertainment, offering a unique blend of technological advancements and immersive experiences. Alongside the U2 concert film and other upcoming shows, it continues to attract a wide audience with its cutting-edge facilities and diverse event lineup.
