Fantasy Football Mock Draft

The recent PPR mock draft held to benefit St. Jude showcased not only the competitive spirit of participants but also highlighted a significant trend in player rankings. CeeDee Lamb, who is currently involved in a contract negotiation, was drafted at No. 7 overall, a notable drop from his previous position as a consistent top-three selection.

In the first round, three running backs were selected among the top four picks: Christian McCaffrey (first), Bijan Robinson (second), and Breece Hall (fourth). Among the receivers selected before Lamb were Tyreek Hill and Ja'Marr Chase.

With Lamb acclaimed as the No. 2 receiver behind Tyreek Hill, the draft participant expressed enthusiasm about securing him at pick seven, while hoping for a timely contract resolution for Lamb to prevent further slips in rankings.

Using a Hero-RB strategy, the participant drafted Lamb alongside other significant players in their first three picks, which included a mixture of running backs in the subsequent rounds. This approach involved an initial strong receiver selection followed by a balanced accumulation of talent at the running back position.

Ken Townsel, another participant, echoed the Hero-RB strategy from the No. 11 spot in the draft, drafting notable players alongside rookie sensation Jahmyr Gibbs. Despite concerns about Gibbs’ hamstring injury, Townsel remained optimistic about his potential to be a top-three running back this season.

The mock draft featured a 12-team format and employed a scoring system that awards points for touchdowns, rushing and receiving yardage, and receptions. Participants drafted within a structure of a starting lineup that included one quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, one tight end, and a FLEX position.

The successful execution of this event demonstrates the intersection of competitive fantasy football and charitable efforts, as participants contribute to a vital cause while engaging in their passion.
