Found Season 2 Winter Premiere Shocks Fans with Multiple Cliffhangers
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The winter premiere of NBC‘s crime-drama series “Found” delivered a series of shocking revelations, setting the stage for the second half of its second season. In the episode titled “Missing While Targeted,” Dhan Rana, a key member of Gabi Mosely‘s crisis management team, is rushed to the hospital after being shot during a high-stakes case. The incident sparks a heartbreaking confrontation between Gabi and Ethan, Dhan’s husband, who blames Gabi for the rift in their marriage and Dhan’s critical condition.
Meanwhile, tensions escalate between Sir, Gabi’s former kidnapper, and Detective Mark Trent. The two men face off in Trent’s home, culminating in the sound of a gunshot, leaving viewers on edge. Earlier in the episode, Sir drops another bombshell, revealing to Gabi that he knows what happened to Margaret Reed‘s son, Jamie, who disappeared 13 years ago. This revelation comes as Margaret continues her relentless search for answers about her son’s fate.
Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll, in an exclusive interview with ScreenRant, explained the reasoning behind the episode’s multiple cliffhangers. “When we started the writers’ room, we didn’t have our airing schedule yet,” Carroll said. “So I was like, ‘Well, shoot. Any of these episodes could end up being our winter finale and our winter premiere.’ That’s why every episode just kind of goes like gangbusters.”
Carroll emphasized the personal stakes for Gabi and her team, noting that Sir’s actions have far-reaching consequences. “Sir has pretty much touched every member of M&A and those closest to her in some way, shape, or form now that he’s just out wild and loose,” she said. “There needed to be real consequences to that.”
The standoff between Sir and Trent was particularly significant, as both men believe they are protecting Gabi, albeit in vastly different ways. “For Trent, part of what he believes in is the process,” Carroll explained. “From Sir’s perspective, this has been the filter he sees everything through.”
As the season progresses, Trent’s belief system may be tested further, especially after Sir uncovers information about Trent’s father. Carroll teased that this revelation will drive Trent’s actions in the latter half of the season. “He can’t let Sir have the victory of holding this over his head,” she said.
Margaret’s search for her son, Jamie, will also take center stage. Carroll promised that the mystery surrounding Jamie’s disappearance will be resolved by the end of the season. “What I can promise our fans and our viewers is that that is going to get answered in the back half of this season,” she said. “Buckle up, it’s going to be a ride.”
“Found” airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
