Ibrahim Osman Feyenoord Debut

Black Stars forward Ibrahim Osman has finally made his first appearance for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie match against Groningen on Saturday, September 14, 2024. The Ghanaian international joined the esteemed Dutch club on a loan arrangement from the English Premier League team Brighton and Hove Albion. His debut, however, was postponed due to delays in completing the necessary paperwork.

Osman, who took the field replacing Bart Nieuwkoop at the hour mark, showed dynamism and skill on the flanks, making an impressive start for Feyenoord. Despite his efforts, a late double from Brynjolfur Willumsson Andersen nullified the visitors’ lead, resulting in both teams sharing the points.

The match witnessed Feyenoord initially gaining the advantage courtesy of an own goal by Thom Van Bergen in the first half. Later, Igor Paixao extended the lead with just 19 minutes left on the clock. Despite the disappointment of conceding goals late in the game, Feyenoord would take heart from Osman’s promising performance.

Osman is expected to gain valuable playtime at the Dutch club before he returns to England next summer, where he is set to commence his career in the English league with Brighton. He secured his move to the Premier League side in the recent summer transfer window, signing a long-term contract from Danish team FC Nordsjaelland.
