IndiGo Flight Honors BSF Hero with Special Tribute

New Delhi, India — Passengers aboard an IndiGo flight recently experienced a heartfelt tribute to a Border Security Force (BSF) officer, who was recognized for his bravery during Operation Sindoor. The airline’s captain acknowledged Assistant Sub Inspector General DUT Rajapak B.T., who was on board the flight.
On June 11, the captain made an announcement honoring Rajapak for his heroic actions during the operation, which took place from May 7 to 8. During intense gunfire, Rajapak sustained serious injuries while helping his fellow soldiers. His courage and quick decision-making played a crucial role in saving lives and forcing enemy forces to retreat.
“This message is to honour a very special traveller onboard this flight,” the captain said during the announcement. He described Rajapak’s actions as a demonstration of true bravery and dedication to duty.
After the tribute, the cabin filled with applause as passengers stood in support of the decorated officer. Rajapak, visibly moved, waved and expressed his gratitude for the recognition.
The in-flight tribute has been well-received on social media platforms, with many users praising IndiGo for its gesture. The airline’s acknowledgment resonates with the Indian public’s appreciation for the sacrifices made by soldiers.
Operation Sindoor was launched in direct response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, targeting several terrorist infrastructure sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation took place as India sought to enhance its security in the region amid ongoing tensions.
