Inter Milan Dominate Genoa In Serie A Clash: Sanchez And Augusto In Starting Xi

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Alexis Sanchez in attack and Carlos Augusto in defense against Genoa.

This evening’s Serie A matchday 27 clash kicks off at 20.45 CET.

There are three changes to the team that beat Atalanta last week in this evening’s match.

Firstly, in attack it is Alexis Sanchez who starts.

Then in goal, it is Yann Sommer who starts.

Next, in defense it is Stefan de Vrij starting in the centre of a back three.

However, there is a change alongside the Dutchman.

Accordingly, Inzaghi has opted to start versatile Brazilian Carlos Augusto on the left of the defensive line.

Thirdly in midfield, Inzaghi has not made any changes to the team that beat Atalanta.

Therefore, it is the trio of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Kristjan Asllani, and Nicolo Barella who start.

Hakan Calhanoglu is a notable injury absence.

On the flanks, Inzaghi has made another change to the team from the Atalanta match.

Denzel Dumfries replaces Matteo Darmian on the right.

However, at left-wingback Federico Dimarco keeps his place.

Lastly, in attack, Inzaghi has decided to go with Alexis Sanchez, who had previously started against Lecce.

The Chilean therefore plays alongside Inter captain Lautaro Martinez.

Meanwhile, there are a couple notable names on the bench.

Striker Marko Arnautovic and defender Yann Bisseck have both come back into the team from injury.

However, despite being in the squad, neither start this evening’s match.

Then, midfielder Davide Frattesi also has a place on the bench despite having picked up a knock against Atalanta.

Inter (3-5-2): Yann Sommer; Benjamin Pavard, Stefan de Vrij, Carlos Augusto; Denzel Dumfries, Nicolo Barella, Kristjan Asllani, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Federico Dimarco; Alexis Sanchez, Lautaro Martinez.

Substitutes: Emil Audero, Raffaele Di Gennaro, Francesco Acerbi, Yann Bisseck, Matteo Darmian, Tajon Buchanan, Filip Stankovic, Davide Frattesi, Davy Klaassen, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Marcus Thuram, Marko Arnautovic.
