Jeannie Mai Calls Police After Jeezy Denies Access to Personal Items

ATLANTA, Ga. — Jeannie Mai, 46, called police after her ex-husband Jeezy, 47, refused to allow her to retrieve personal belongings from his Georgia home, according to court documents obtained by In Touch Weekly. The incident occurred on December 9, 2024, months after the couple finalized their divorce in June 2024.

Jeannie, a television personality, had arranged to collect boxes containing her Emmy award, trophies, photos, handbags, shoes, and other personal items stored in Jeezy’s garage. A judge had previously ruled that she could retrieve her belongings within 21 days. However, Jeezy (real name Jay Jenkins) expressed concerns about her entering his home, citing fears of privacy invasion and potential retaliation.

“[Jeezy] does not feel safe having [Jeannie] in his home,” his lawyer stated in court filings. “Given [Jeannie’s] history of attempting to destroy [Jeezy’s] career with misleading information, [Jeezy] would have no way of knowing if [Jeannie] is planting listening devices or cameras in his home.”

Jeannie’s legal team disputed these claims, emphasizing that she had no intention of invading Jeezy’s privacy. Her lawyers notified Jeezy in advance of her planned visit and requested confirmation that she would be allowed access to the garage. Despite this, Jeezy’s house manager, acting on his orders, refused entry to Jeannie and her movers, prompting her to call the Atlanta Police Department.

“The police were not called to make a scene but instead to report that the court order was being violated,” Jeannie’s lawyer wrote in court documents. When officers arrived, the house manager allegedly attempted to impose additional conditions, including requiring Jeannie’s team to sign a nondisclosure agreement—a requirement not stipulated in the court order.

Upon finally gaining access to the garage, Jeannie discovered that her belongings had been damaged. Her lawyer described the scene: “The boxes were wet, with water having soaked through the boxes, damaging personal items. There were mouse traps set in the garage, presumably set for mice which had eaten through some of the boxes. Many of [Jeannie’s] awards were broken and scratched.”

Jeannie’s legal team accused Jeezy of failing to comply with court orders, resulting in significant legal expenses for her. They also refuted claims that she was acting out of anger or revenge. “The only party that seems to be angry or revengeful is [Jeezy],” her lawyer wrote.

This incident follows a September 2024 petition filed by Jeannie, accusing Jeezy of contempt for allegedly failing to meet financial obligations outlined in their divorce settlement, including daycare and rent expenses. Jeezy denied these allegations, calling them “blatant misrepresentations” and claiming Jeannie had not provided proper receipts for the expenses.

A judge has yet to rule on the latest dispute between the former couple, whose divorce has been marked by ongoing legal battles and public accusations.
