Kayo Sports Signs Multi-Year Deal to Become Exclusive PPV Channel for UFC Fights in Australia
Australia‘s leading sports streaming service, Kayo Sports, has secured a new multi-year partnership with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to become the exclusive pay-per-view (PPV) channel for UFC fights in the country. This agreement marks a major milestone in the 15-year relationship between Kayo Sports and UFC, solidifying their position as the go-to platform for MMA enthusiasts.
Under this new deal, UFC fans in Australia seeking to purchase specific fights will need to access them through Kayo Sports’ Main Event platform, available on both Kayo Sports and Foxtel. The initial exclusive PPV event is scheduled to take place on January 21, featuring a gripping middleweight championship clash between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis.
To build anticipation for the upcoming event, Kayo Sports and Foxtel are launching UFC Fight Week, an engaging series hosted by Melissa Leong. Starting today, viewers can watch UFC Fight Week, where Leong, alongside commentators Tyson Pedro and Dan Hooker, will provide analysis and interviews with the middleweight champions, Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis.
In addition to the exclusive PPV events, MMA fans can also enjoy access to UFC Fight Nights, UFC Pay-Per-View Prelims, UFC Countdown, DC & RC, and a wide range of titles from UFC’s Fight Library through ESPN, which is available on both Kayo Sports and Foxtel platforms.
While Kayo Sports’ Main Event platform will be the new home for UFC PPV fights, UFC Fight Pass subscribers can still enjoy live broadcasts of UFC fights on the UFC’s dedicated streaming service.
Rebecca McCloy, the executive director of commercial sport at Foxtel, expressed excitement about strengthening and expanding their partnership with UFC. McCloy emphasized that 2024 would deliver an electrifying lineup of epic battles, with UFC 297 on January 21 marking just the beginning.
UFC President, Dana White, commended Foxtel and Kayo Sports as the top sports broadcasters in Australia, noting their unwavering support for UFC since its inception. White expressed confidence that the new partnership would further accelerate the growth of UFC in Australia, making Foxtel and Kayo Sports the ultimate destination for the most thrilling and intense fights all year round.
