Killeen Isd Employee Recognition Ceremony

KILLEEN, TexasKilleen Independent School District celebrated the dedication of its long-serving employees during a ceremony Tuesday afternoon.

Among the honorees was Susan Mooney, who has dedicated 45 years to the Special Education department. During the recognition event at the Administration Building, trustees presented certificates and gifts to employees, acknowledging their years of service and commitment to the school district.

“We are so proud of these individuals and the impact they have made on our students and community over the years,” said William Baker, assistant superintendent of Human Resources. He addressed the trustees and attendees as he read the names of the honorees, not all of whom could attend.

The ceremony was attended by KISD trustees, including Secretary Marvin Rainwater, Board President Brett Williams, Vice President Susan Jones, Brenda Adams, Rodney Gilchrist, and Superintendent Jo Ann Fey. Together, they honored the retirements and milestones of the dedicated staff members.

Trustee Brett Williams remarked, “Each of these individuals has played a crucial role in shaping the future of our students. Their commitment is commendable, and we are grateful for their service.”

Employees typically recognized include those celebrating anniversaries of five years and beyond. The awards not only include certificates but also gifts that vary based on the length of service, ranging from personalized items to gift cards.

This annual tradition helps foster a sense of community within the school district and brings attention to the importance of dedication in education. The event concluded with celebratory refreshments, allowing employees and trustees to mingle and share stories.
