Lazio Faces Genoa Without Key Winger Gustav Isaksen

Rome, Italy — Lazio will be without winger Gustav Isaksen in their rescheduled match against Genoa on Wednesday. Isaksen, who has scored six goals and provided six assists this season, has become a key player for Lazio. Coach Marco Baroni now faces the challenge of replacing him during this critical phase of the season.
Reports from Il Corriere dello Sport suggest that Baroni is likely to use Adam Marusic as a right winger to fill the gap left by Isaksen. Marusic, originally a right-back, has also played at left-back and occasionally in a central defensive role. He is not entirely new to the winger position, having played there in his early years in Belgium and during international matches.
The decision to replace Isaksen with Marusic comes with some considerations. Baroni reportedly wants to protect Tchaouna after the young winger’s penalty miss against Bodo/Glimt. Tchaouna, just 22 years old, may not get another chance to start this season if he doesn’t impress. Tijjani Noslin, another option, has been considered, but Baroni views him more as a striker than a winger.
Pedro’s condition is also under scrutiny after he requested a substitution in a recent match, which raises doubts about his ability to start. Therefore, Baroni seems set to deploy Marusic as the right winger, with Manuel Lazzari expected to fill the right-back position, despite being regarded as more offensive-minded than Marusic.
