Mark Hamill The Long Walk Movie Trailer

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Mark Hamill leads a cast of young actors in the trailer for the film adaptation of Stephen King’s dystopian thriller, ‘The Long Walk,’ set to release in theaters on September 12.

The movie features Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Roman Griffin Davis, and Judy Greer. The story revolves around an annual contest where 100 teen boys embark on a grueling journey that mandates they maintain a rapid pace, ultimately resulting in only one survivor.

In the trailer, a haunting voice instructs the participants to keep moving “until there’s only one of you left.” This premise emphasizes the harsh and high-stakes nature of the contest.

Director Lawrence crafted the film from a script by ‘Strange Darling.’ The film is based on King’s novel published in 1979 under his pseudonym, Richard Bachman. Producers of the project include Lawrence, Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, and Cameron MacConomy.

Hamill, speaking at the recent CinemaCon presentation for Lionsgate, discussed the disturbing nature of the premise. “The premise alone is nightmare-inducing, but it’s good to get out of your comfort zone,” he remarked about joining the project.

Reflecting on his role as the antagonist, Hamill stated, “If you can’t be the hero, there’s nothing better than being the villain. If you get booed and people hate your guts, then you’ve done your job.”

Lawrence expressed a long-standing admiration for King’s work and said he was captivated by the striking concept of the story. “You can imagine yourself in the shoes of one of the boys,” he noted.

The anticipation for ‘The Long Walk’ continues to grow as fans of both King and Hamill await its release.
