NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 Returns to Charlotte This Weekend

CONCORD, N.C. — NASCAR‘s Coca-Cola 600 is set to take place this Sunday, May 25, at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This race, known as the longest event in the NASCAR Cup Series, will cover 600 miles over 400 laps, starting at 6 p.m. ET.
This year marks a significant broadcast shift, as the entire race will be available on Amazon Prime Video, the first time a NASCAR event will be streamed exclusively online. In addition to the main broadcast, fans can also check out MAX for in-car cameras, providing a unique viewer experience.
All eyes will be on Kyle Larson, who will be competing in both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. Larson had a disappointing experience last year, missing the Coca-Cola 600 after the Indy 500 was delayed due to rain. This year, he hopes to complete the 1,100 miles between the two legendary races.
The Coca-Cola 600 is a highlight of the Memorial Day weekend, following the Indy 500 and Formula One races. Larson, driving for Hendrick Motorsports, will start the day at Indianapolis and then rush to Charlotte in a helicopter and a plane to participate in the NASCAR event.
Qualifying for the Coca-Cola 600 will take place on Saturday, May 24, with 40 drivers announced to compete on race day. Previous years have seen competitive finishes, including Christopher Bell‘s rain-shortened victory last year. Bell led the final 18 laps of that race after a late interruption due to weather conditions.
The Coca-Cola 600 is not only a test of speed but also endurance, with teams managing fuel and tire strategies throughout the grueling race.
Fans can look forward to an exciting lineup of drivers as the race day approaches, adding to the anticipation that surrounds one of NASCAR’s crown jewel events.
