NBC Cancels ‘Found’ After Two Seasons Ahead of Finale

LOS ANGELES, CA — NBC has announced the cancellation of the drama series ‘Found‘ after two seasons. The series, starring Shanola Hampton as public relations specialist Gabi Mosely, will not be returning for a third season. Warner Bros. Television, the show’s studio, may explore options to shop it to other networks.
The cancellation comes just days before the Season 2 finale, which is set to air on May 15. This episode had been highly anticipated, featuring a key showdown between Gabi and Sir’s sister Lena, played by Danielle Savre.
‘Found’ followed Gabi Mosely, who herself had been one of the over 300,000 missing persons of color in the U.S. Alongside her crisis management team, Gabi worked to bring attention to these often-forgotten individuals. The series explored her chilling secret of imprisoning her childhood kidnapper, Sir, played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who escaped at the end of Season 1.
Since its launch in fall 2023, the series initially found success, premiering with 10.5 million viewers across platforms. However, both ‘Found’ and another NBC drama, ‘The Irrational,’ began to see significant declines in viewership as the broadcast schedule became more competitive with scripted originals. By this season, ‘Found’ averaged 3.9 million viewers, ranking ninth out of eleven dramas aired by NBC this year.
In a move away from scripted series, NBC has also canceled other shows including ‘Suits LA,’ ‘The Irrational,’ ‘Night Court,’ and ‘Lopez vs. Lopez’ as part of a broader shift in programming strategy, focusing on accommodating 180 hours of NBA basketball during primetime next season.
Nkechi Okoro Carroll served as the creator and showrunner of ‘Found,’ with executive producers including Sonay Hoffman, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter. With its cancellation, many fans of the show are left hoping it could be picked up by another network.
