Nfl Trade Deadline Wide Receivers

East Rutherford, New Jersey – As the NFL trade deadline approaches, the New York Giants are reportedly targeting several wide receivers to bolster their roster. Among the candidates are New Orleans Saints’ Chris Olave, Miami DolphinsJaylen Waddle, and Jakobi Meyers from the Las Vegas Raiders, according to SNY.

Finding a trading partner may prove challenging, as noted by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. He pointed out that enticing the current teams of Olave and Waddle to part ways will not be easy. He indicated that other franchises might begin reaching out to Miami regarding Waddle’s availability, but doubted that the Dolphins would consider trading him.

Waddle, 26, has been a significant contributor to the Miami offense this season, with 29 receptions for 390 yards and three touchdowns. His performance has been stellar, especially in light of teammate Tyreek Hill‘s injury, where he has tallied 205 yards on 12 catches in just the last two games.

Meanwhile, Olave, a former first-round pick, has also shown potential this season, playing in all six games and catching 39 passes for 342 yards and one touchdown. He was one of the players ESPN mentioned that “could be available” ahead of the trade deadline.

The Giants, currently sitting at 2-4, may consider making these acquisitions exciting since they have seen improvement since rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart took the reins in Week 4, helping the team achieve a 2-1 record during that span. Their need to supplement their receiving core may become more pressing following the season-ending injury to rookie Malik Nabers.

Darius Slayton, another key wideout for the Giants, is also recovering from an injury that kept him out of action in Week 6. The team is expected to remain active as the trade deadline, set for November 4 at 4 p.m. ET, draws closer.
