Nigeria’s Zaidu Sanusi Faces Season-Ending Injury Blow in Porto Clash Against Arsenal
Nigeria’s national team defender, Zaidu Sanusi, is set to miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a severe injury during Porto‘s recent clash against Estrela da Amadora.
Sanusi, who had just returned from the Africa Cup of Nations, was forced off the pitch early in the game, with Jorge Sanchez coming on as his replacement for Porto.
Porto’s manager, Sergio Conceicao, confirmed the extent of Sanusi’s injury, indicating that the left-back may face a prolonged spell on the sidelines.
The injury setback is a significant blow for the Dragons, especially with a crucial match against Arsenal on the horizon in the round of 16 clashes.
Zaidu Sanusi’s absence will require Porto to rely on Brazilian left-back Wendell as a regular starter in the team, as they navigate through the latter stages of the season in the Primera Liga.
