Bo Nix Shines in Broncos Preseason Performance
Bo Nix is making waves in the NFL as he showcases impressive skills in the preseason with the Denver Broncos. In his first start against the Green Bay Packers, he completed 8 out of 9 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown, leading the Broncos to a comfortable 27-2 victory.
Nix didn’t just shine in passing; he also ran for 12 yards and ended up with a shining passer rating of 140.7. His standout moment came when he connected with Tim Patrick for a touchdown, completing a tough play while being chased down by Packers defensive end Kingsley Enagbare.
While Nix has shown he can lead the offense effectively, Broncos head coach Sean Payton is holding off on naming him the starting quarterback. “He’s played well, but I’m not announcing any starting quarterback tonight,” Payton mentioned after the game, leaving fans eagerly awaiting his decision.
Jarrett Stidham, who also saw action, went 7-for-11 with 65 yards and one interception. He managed to score a rushing touchdown but faced challenges on the field. In the preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts, he flew solo, achieving 4-of-7 for 37 yards but also threw an interception.
Despite Stidham’s efforts, it’s clear that Nix has caught the attention of both fans and coaches alike. With a remarkable stat line of 23 completions on 30 attempts for 205 yards and two touchdowns over the preseason so far, he’s proven to be a competent and efficient quarterback.
The upcoming final preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals might be the turning point, as the competition continues to heat up between Nix, Stidham, and Russell Wilson for the coveted starting position. Broncos fans are hopeful that Nix will be at the helm for their season opener at Lumen Field against the Seattle Seahawks on September 8.
