LOS ANGELES, CA — The new Apple TV+ comedy series “Stick” features a dynamic ensemble led by Owen Wilson, Marc Maron, and Judy Greer, with newcomer Peter Dager as a breakout star. The series, which premiered on June 4, 2025, follows former pro-golfer Pryce Cahill (Wilson) who discovers Santiago “Santi” Wheeler (Dager), a talented teenager with a knack for golf.

In “Stick,” Pryce, who has struggled since a professional downfall, sees potential in Santi, an attitude-filled teen who is initially reluctant to accept help. To lure Santi into playing competitively, Pryce offers to pay his mother, Elena (Mariana Treviño), $100,000, setting the stage for a journey filled with tournaments across the country.

As they travel together, the cast, including former caddy Mitts (Maron) and server Zero (Lilli Kay), adds depth and humor to the show. While each character brings something unique, Dager’s performance as Santi stands out, showcasing a promising talent in the entertainment industry.

At just 22, Dager has appeared in various films and TV shows, including a role in “Insidious: The Red Door.” He expressed enthusiasm for his role, stating that the journey has been rewarding. “It took six auditions and multiple trips between New York and Los Angeles for me to land this role,” he explained.

The show aims to combine humor and heartfelt moments, exploring themes of mentorship and self-discovery. Dager portrays a character at a critical turning point, burdened with seeking validation in a sport that has emotional ties to his past.

“Stick” has garnered positive feedback for its blend of comedy and warmth, with its first two episodes now streaming on Apple TV+. As the players navigate their pasts and confront their futures, viewers are invited to witness their growth, making it a series to keep an eye on this summer.
