The ICC Men's T20 World Cup warm-up match between Oman and Afghanistan at Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad was cut short due to persistent rain, leading to the abandonment of the game.

Oman won the toss and opted to bat first, with captain Aqib Ilyas delivering a standout performance, scoring an unbeaten 66 runs off 48 balls.

After a quick start by Oman, Pratik Athavale fell for 15 runs, followed by Kashyap Prajapati’s dismissal for 35 due to a mix-up between the batsmen.

Despite Zeeshan Maqsood’s contribution of 35 runs, it was Aqib Ilyas who shone brightest, registering seven fours and three sixes during his innings.

The rain interruption halted play with Oman finishing at 154/3 after 20 overs, with Afghanistan unable to begin their innings.

Notable players in the match included Azmatullah Omarzai, Rashid Khan, and Naveen-ul-Haq, who played key roles in the game.

The match was the only warm-up game scheduled for the day, showcasing the competitive spirit of the teams ahead of the T20 World Cup.
