Rolex Launches Coveted Limited-Edition Watch Amid Collector Frenzy

Geneva, Switzerland — Rolex‘s latest limited-edition chronograph has become a must-have among collectors since its debut in June 2023. The stunning watch, crafted in white gold, has quickly risen to the top of the Most Wanted list for horology enthusiasts.
The watch’s launch came as a surprise during the annual Watches and Wonders event in April, where Rolex unveiled several impressive timepieces. However, the true standout was the chronograph launched unexpectedly in June, which marked the 100th anniversary of the famed 24-hour endurance race.
This special edition watch embodies a throwback to vintage Daytona designs and features unique details that have captivated collectors internationally, from Switzerland to Hong Kong. With a retail price of $51,400, this timepiece is already trading in the secondary market for as much as $250,000.
Both Ed Sheeran and Kevin Hart were spotted wearing their versions of the watch recently, highlighting its prominence among celebrities. Sheeran wore his white gold chronograph at the 2025 Time100 Gala, while Hart sported his yellow gold version during a courtside appearance at the Nuggets–Clippers game.
The chronograph is equipped with a 24-hour totalizer, diverging from the traditional 12-hour counter, a nod to the endurance race’s lengthy runtime. The subdials feature a clean white design, similar to vintage “reverse panda” models, enhancing its aesthetic appeal.
Notably, the typography used on the subregisters is inspired by the “exotic” dials first seen on “Paul Newman” Daytonas, which have dramatically increased in value over the years. Additionally, the red 100 index on the tachymeter bezel commemorates Le Mans’ centennial, connecting past with present.
Ultimately, the watch’s distinct features and historical references have made it a coveted item among horology fans. With its heavy and attractive design, it’s becoming a centerpiece in any collector’s wardrobe.
