Sonu Nigam’s Unique Worship Ritual Captures Public Attention
Renowned Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam has once again captured the public’s attention, but this time not for his musical prowess. A recent video shared by Nigam on social media has showcased a unique glimpse into the spiritual side of his life, particularly focusing on his home temple rituals.
The clip, recorded during the festival of Navratri, was filmed by Nigam’s niece, Teesha Nigam, who is affectionately referred to as his daughter by him. It shows Sonu Nigam, dressed in traditional attire, performing rituals inside his home’s personal temple.
In the video, Nigam is seen entering the temple, first bowing before a portrait of his late mother, offering her a tilak and a chunari. He then proceeds to perform worship rituals for various deities, including Lord Ganesh, Shiv Parvati, and Hanuman, as well as several revered personalities from the music and film industry.
The singer’s temple does not only house traditional deities. Noteworthy is the presence of photographs of iconic figures such as Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, Gulshan Kumar, and international music sensation Michael Jackson, all of whom are shown receiving a tilak from Nigam during his ritual.
Many viewers were taken aback by the inclusivity displayed by Nigam, who includes artists and music industry stalwarts as part of his daily prayer routine. Reactions on social media have been filled with surprise and admiration, with users praising this blend of spiritual devotion and artistic reverence.
Clarifying some confusion that arose from the video regarding Teesha Nigam, it was explained that she is not Nigam’s biological daughter but his sister’s daughter, whom he regards as his own child. Teesha Nigam is also known for her contributions to the Indian playback singing scene, particularly in Telugu cinema.
This insight into Sonu Nigam’s devotional life has struck a chord with many, highlighting his deep spiritual beliefs alongside his illustrious career in music.
