Jacksonville Weather Storm Clearing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As the Weather Authority Impact Day concludes, storms dispersed early Wednesday afternoon, ushering in a refreshing change in the atmosphere. Post-storm conditions will offer residents a stunning sunset after light rainfall, while forecasters anticipate a shift in temperatures.

Rainfall, which moved through the area, wrapped up over St. Johns and Flagler counties, racing out into the Atlantic by mid-afternoon. Though a few thunderstorms were recorded, they were never classified as severe. Wind gusts were notable, reaching over 30 mph throughout the day.

According to the latest figures, Orange Park saw 0.28 inches of rain, Arlington recorded 0.35 inches, and JAX Airport had 0.23 inches. As skies begin to clear, temperatures are expected to drop into the 60s this evening and fall further into the 40s by Thursday morning.

“A high-pressure system is building in, which means sunshine will dominate the forecast for the coming days,” said Mark Collins, a veteran meteorologist with The Weather Authority. “However, residents should remain vigilant as another round of rain is predicted for the weekend.”

Looking ahead, the forecast for Thursday suggests cooler temperatures and windy conditions, providing a stark contrast to the warm days previously experienced. Meteorologists are encouraging individuals to stay up-to-date on weather changes, especially with potential rain returning shortly.

“While we can enjoy the clear skies for now, it’s essential to keep an eye out for the weekend forecast adjustments,” Collins advised. “Weather patterns can shift rapidly.”
