Toronto Fc Dc United Major League Soccer

TORONTO, Canada — Toronto FC will face DC United on Saturday night at BMO Field as they look to break a four-match winless streak in Major League Soccer. This matchup marks the second meeting between the two teams this year, following a disappointing start for the Reds this month.

After losing 2-0 at home to the New England Revolution last week, Toronto FC sits near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. They have not won a game at home in 2025, with their last victory at BMO Field coming against DC United in 2023, where they triumphed 2-1. Currently, Toronto has only managed a single win in their last eight home matches.

Head coach Bob Bradley‘s squad has struggled defensively, conceding 16 goals this season—10 of which have come in the first half. Toronto’s offensive woes include failing to score in their last four league games at home.

Meanwhile, DC United comes into this match with some momentum after securing a 2-1 victory against the Colorado Rapids last week and winning their US Open Cup match against Charleston Battery. Currently, they occupy 12th place in the Eastern Conference, five points ahead of Toronto.

Injuries continue to haunt Toronto, with several players, including Federico Bernardeschi and Lorenzo Insigne, missing due to lower-body injuries. The defensive line has also been impacted, complicating their efforts to turn around their season.

On the other side, DC United’s coach Wayne Rooney has observed an improvement in his squad, emphasizing their ability to stay competitive despite conceding the highest number of goals in the league (23) this season. However, they remain unbeaten in ten domestic matches where they score multiple goals.

With both teams desperate for points, Saturday’s encounter promises to be a critical match in both clubs’ quest to improve their positions in the standings. The stakes could not be higher for Toronto FC as they aim to end their troubling home run.
