Minnesota Twins Baseball Players Celebrating

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota — The Minnesota Twins have climbed back to .500 following a seven-game winning streak, with their latest victory being a 2-1 triumph over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday.

Twins pitcher Joe Ryan returned from an illness to throw six outstanding innings, allowing just one run while striking out seven batters. Ryan’s performance led the Twins to their seventh consecutive win, improving their record to 20-20 after a rocky start to the season.

“I felt horrible,” Ryan said after the game. “But it was good to not have them slap me in the face.” His efforts helped the Twins recover from a 7-15 start, a period marked by injuries and inconsistent performances.

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli praised Ryan’s game-winning pickoff play at third base, highlighting the importance of confidence and execution in high-pressure situations. “That takes an immense amount of confidence to make that play,” Baldelli said.

The Twins offense produced just enough firepower, with Trevor Larnach clocking a two-run homer. Despite facing tough pitching from Giants’ starter Logan Webb, the Twins were able to capitalize on critical moments, including Larnach’s early long ball that put them in control.

“It feels great. Vibes are really good. We’re beating good teams with quality baseball,” Ryan noted, reflecting the team’s positive momentum.

Sunday’s game against the Giants continued this trend, with the Twins securing a 7-6 walk-off victory thanks to a 10th-inning single from DaShawn Keirsey Jr., marking their eighth straight win and a winning record for the first time this season.

“We’re 5-0 since Royce got here,” Lewis said, referring to teammate Royce Lewis, who recently returned from injury and broke an extensive hitless streak. “I’m not worried about it. The tides will turn.”

The Twins are hopeful that their recent success can be sustained throughout the season, with budding stars emerging alongside veteran talent like Carlos Correa, who hit a two-run homer this past week.

As the Twins continue their campaign, they remain aware of the challenges ahead in the competitive American League Central Division, where health and consistency will be vital for playoff contention.
