Ipl 2025 Chennai Super Kings Sunrisers Hyderabad Match

CHENNAI, India — Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced a disappointing defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their IPL 2025 match at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on April 25. CSK managed to score only 154 runs before being bowled out, while SRH chased down the target with confidence.

CSK, languishing at the bottom of the points table, entered the game hoping to improve their fortunes. Sunrisers Hyderabad, looking to avoid the same fate, struck early with CSK losing wickets quickly. MS Dhoni, the CSK captain, emphasized the importance of starting strong in his pre-match comments.

The match showcased a stellar bowling performance from Sunrisers’ Harshal Patel, who took four wickets for 28 runs in four overs. His strategic bowling helped dismantle CSK’s batting order, particularly taking crucial wickets including MS Dhoni and Shivam Dube.

“We executed our plans well,” Patel said after the match. “Bowling in the right areas and maintaining pressure was key to our victory.”

Chennai’s innings started poorly when Shaik Rasheed was dismissed for a golden duck on the very first ball. Despite some contributions from Ayush Mhatre, who scored 30 off 19 balls, CSK’s innings never gained momentum.

Ravindra Jadeja and new debutant Dewald Brevis provided brief sparks with a few aggressive shots, but the overall performance was below expectations. Jadeja scored 21 runs and Deepak Hooda was the top scorer with 39 runs. However, CSK was ultimately bowled out in the final over.

“We need to regroup and focus on our next matches,” Dhoni said, reflecting on the team’s disappointing performance at home.

In response, SRH reached the target comfortably, driven by solid contributions from their top order. While they faced a few early hiccups, the victory strengthened their position in the league.

With this loss, CSK faces an uphill battle as the season progresses, needing to find a way to recover in their upcoming matches.
