Dean Huijsen Real Madrid Football Transfer

Madrid, SpainReal Madrid has officially signed defender Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth after activating his £50 million release clause. The 20-year-old will join the Spanish giants on a five-year contract, enabling him to debut in the Club World Cup slated for June 18 against Saudi Arabian team Al Hilal.

Both clubs confirmed the transfer, with Real Madrid set to pay the fee in three instalments. The deal includes clauses that will distribute 10% to Huijsen’s former club, Juventus, and 5% to Málaga. The young defender has previously drawn significant interest from numerous Premier League clubs.

Huijsen chose to return to Spain, where he spent his formative years playing for Costa Unida CF and Málaga’s youth team. Upon his arrival in Bournemouth last summer for £12.6 million, he quickly became a key player, featured in 34 matches this season, and scored three goals. He gained attention notably for a powerful header in a match against Tottenham.

According to Spain’s manager Luis de la Fuente, Huijsen is “ready” for the transition to Real Madrid. “I see him as capable of playing for any team,” de la Fuente stated, emphasizing Huijsen’s potential for growth.

Bournemouth’s president of football operations, Tiago Pinto, was pivotal in Huijsen’s move, having observed the defender’s talents during his loan at Roma. Pinto strategically recognized Juventus’ need to offload players, which facilitated the move to Bournemouth.

The upcoming season will be crucial for Real Madrid as they face a defensive crisis due to injuries to multiple players. Huijsen is viewed as a vital addition to bolster the squad, especially under the incoming management of Xabi Alonso, who has expressed a keen interest in securing young talent for the team’s future.

As the transfer is finalized, Bournemouth stands poised to quadruple their investment in Huijsen, marking a significant financial gain after just one season.
