Formula 1 F1 Tv Premium Launch

IMOLA, Italy — Formula 1 has unveiled F1 TV Premium, a new subscription service that allows fans to watch races in stunning 4K UHD HDR and enjoy a personalized viewing experience. Launched in March 2025, the platform offers exclusive features such as a Multiview option, letting fans watch multiple camera angles and data displays on select devices.

Dean Locke, the executive director of TV production for Formula 1, emphasized that the upgrade responds to fan demand for higher picture quality and richer content. ‘We kicked it off with UHD, HDR… the research was telling us that the fan base was quite keen to get those pictures and get that rich content,’ said Locke.

F1 TV Premium is now available to subscribers using devices like Apple iOS, Apple TV, Roku, and Chrome web browsers. Users can watch races on up to six devices at the same time. The Multiview feature enhances fan engagement by allowing viewers to monitor their favorite drivers’ real-time data alongside the main broadcast.

The rollout of the new service faced challenges due to compatibility across different platforms. Some features, like 4K UHD, may not be accessible on all devices, specifically on iOS. ‘Just being able to deliver UHD pictures across different platforms was not completely easy,’ Locke stated.

As the 2025 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix approaches this Sunday, May 18, fans can expect comprehensive coverage featuring a talented broadcast team. This includes presenter Laura Winter and former F1 driver Jolyon Palmer, among others.

The innovative changes brought by F1 TV Premium mark a significant leap towards personalizing live sports experiences. ‘I believe the future of broadcasting is personalization,’ Locke added. ‘We want to enrich that experience with [being] able to choose your level of personalization.’
