Karachi Kings Vs Peshawar Zalmi Psl 2025

Rawalpindi, Pakistan — The Karachi Kings secured a vital 23-run victory over Peshawar Zalmi in the 27th match of the Pakistan Super League on May 17, 2025. The Kings posted a formidable 237 runs, with standout performances from David Warner and James Vince, sealing their qualification for the playoffs.

Warner led the charge with an explosive 86 runs off 50 balls, while Vince contributed 72 runs off 49 deliveries. Khushdil Shah‘s quick-fire 43 off just 15 balls further bolstered the Kings’ total. Despite an impressive knock from Babar Azam, who scored 94 runs for Zalmi, his team’s efforts fell short as they could only achieve 214 runs.

The match featured fireworks during the innings break, setting a celebratory tone for the return of PSL cricket. Warner and Vince built a strong foundation early on, as the Kings capitalized on a bowling attack that struggled to maintain pressure.

Fast bowler Mark Wood was the only Zalmi bowler to emerge with credit, taking 2 wickets for 19 runs in his four overs. However, as the innings progressed, the Kings piled on the runs, particularly in the final two overs of their innings, where they scored 52 runs.

Zalmi attempted a comeback during their innings, initially racing to 59 runs in the powerplay. Babar and Saim Ayub formed a dangerous partnership, but the loss of three quick wickets stifled their momentum.

With Zalmi needing 20 runs off the last two overs, they were ultimately unable to chase down the massive total. Babar’s run-out for 94 was a turning point, as was the loss of key wickets at crucial moments.

The win places the Karachi Kings in the playoffs, while Peshawar Zalmi will face Lahore Qalandars in a must-win match on Sunday.
