Harry Wilson Fulham Brentford Match 2025

LONDON, England — Fulham defeated Brentford 3-2 in a thrilling Premier League match on Sunday, completing a double over their West London rivals. The victory came after Fulham’s Harry Wilson scored a stunning goal late in the match, marking his third goal against Brentford this season.

Fulham took the lead in the 16th minute when Raul Jimenez scored his 12th goal of the season. The Mexican striker leaped to direct a header from Adama Traore‘s cross past Brentford’s goalkeeper Mark Flekken.

Brentford responded quickly with Bryan Mbeumo equalizing after a skillful one-two with Yoane Wissa. Mbeumo later had a chance to give Brentford the lead but missed a penalty, which was saved by Bernd Leno.

Before halftime, Wissa scored to put Brentford ahead 2-1, following a throw-in that fell to him after a scramble in front of goal. Fulham faced a strong deficit but regrouped in the second half.

Skipper Tom Cairney began the comeback, heading home a deflected cross in the 68th minute. Just two minutes later, Wilson, having recently entered the game, curled a stunning shot from nearly 30 yards to score the winning goal.

“The response in the second half was great,” Fulham manager Marco Silva said post-match. “It breaks the points tally record for our football club, something this club has never done.”

Despite their late efforts, Brentford could not equalize, with Christian Norgaard’s powerful header saved by Leno in the 86th minute. The win placed Fulham at 54 points, their highest points tally in the Premier League, securing them 10th place in the standings.

“We deserved more,” Brentford manager Thomas Frank commented. “I hate losing! We can still finish eighth, which would be our highest finish in the Premier League.”
