Cool Weather and Rain Chances Continue Through Week

Weather Forecast Rain Cold Temperatures

CINCINNATI, Ohio — Storms moving out of the area Tuesday night will give way to cooler temperatures and occasional rain throughout the week, according to Chief Meteorologist Kevin Robinson.

Robinson noted that while there might be some leftover light rain Tuesday night, the intensity will diminish rapidly. “The trend is certainly on the decrease,” he said. With only nuisance rain expected through Friday, many may find Memorial Day weekend plans affected by cool temperatures.

As temperatures drop, overnight lows could reach the 40s, with daytime highs barely breaking into the upper 60s. Wednesday will start off cool in the 50s, and scattered showers are likely to continue throughout the day.

Robinson explained that the cooler air is coming from Canada, resulting in unseasonably low temperatures. Most days this week will see highs in the 50s, notably lower than the seasonal average of 70 degrees. Despite the possibility of rain, no heavy downpours are expected, with total anticipated rainfall remaining around 0.1 inches.

Looking ahead, the holiday weekend may be mostly dry, but temperatures will remain cool, with highs in the 60s from Friday through Sunday. Monday may see a mild increase into the low 70s, but rain is expected to return on Tuesday.

Robinson emphasized that while cooler weather is expected, this is not an ideal forecast for pool outings. The combination of cool temperatures and showers could leave many seeking indoor activities over the Memorial Day weekend.
