Pachuca In Talks for Agustín Palavecino as 2025 Club World Cup Approaches

Pachuca, Mexico – As the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup approaches, Pachuca is actively negotiating with Necaxa for the potential signing of midfielder Agustín Palavecino, according to reports.
After securing defender José Castillo from Chivas as their first signing for the tournament, Pachuca is looking to bolster its squad further. Palavecino, who previously played for River Plate, has reportedly given his approval to the deal. Both clubs are now working to finalize the agreement for his loan.
Pachuca is going through turbulent times following the resignation of head coach Guillermo Almada last Thursday. Almada’s decision leaves the club in a state of uncertainty as they seek to finalize their roster ahead of the world tournament, which will take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13.
Palavecino has been a standout player during the Clausura 2025, helping Necaxa secure fifth place in the regular phase alongside teammate José Paradela. His performance has confirmed him as a key player for the team.
Necaxa, on the other hand, faced a disappointing exit in the quarterfinals against Tigres, marred by controversial refereeing. Meanwhile, Chivas has officially announced the loan of José Castillo to Pachuca for the upcoming tournament.
In a statement, Chivas praised Castillo’s recent performances, stating, “The outstanding performance that the Rojiblanco defender has shown in recent tournaments has not gone unnoticed by Pachuca.” Castillo originally debuted with Pachuca in October 2021.
