BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU baseball is set to begin its NCAA Tournament journey as the No. 6 national seed, facing Little Rock at Alex Box Stadium on Friday, May 30, at 2 p.m. CT. This matchup marks the opening game of the Baton Rouge Regional, with LSU (43-14) aiming to advance to the Super Regionals.

Last season, LSU’s NCAA regional run came to an end in North Carolina, but this year’s home advantage could boost their chances. Coach Jay Johnson spoke about the benefits of hosting this time around. “Having hosted here before in 2023, there’s a lot of benefit to it,” he said. “Familiarity is good for the players. Obviously the fans, that’s good.”

The Tigers will face the fourth seed, Little Rock (24-32), the champions of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. The game will be aired on the SEC Network and can be listened to on the LSU Sports Radio Network.

In the Baton Rouge Regional, the number two seed Dallas Baptist will meet the number three seed Rhode Island in the second game on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. CT, streamed on ESPN +.

A successful outing on Friday could see LSU playing again on Saturday at 5 p.m. CT against the winner of the Dallas Baptist-Rhode Island match. Should they lose, the Tigers would face the loser of that game at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday.

This weekend marks the 28th NCAA Regional at Alex Box Stadium, where LSU has posted an impressive .793 all-time record in these games. The Tigers have claimed 26 NCAA Regional titles, winning at home 23 times.
