Twins Versus Athletics Baseball Game

SACRAMENTO, California — The Minnesota Twins are set to continue their road trip with a four-game series against the Oakland Athletics starting Monday night at Sutter Health Park, the home of the Sacramento River Cats.

The series opener will feature Twins pitcher Joe Ryan facing off against Athletics pitcher Luis Severino. Ryan holds a 5-2 record with a 2.57 ERA, while Severino has struggled with a 1-4 record and a 3.89 ERA.

This series comes as the Twins conclude a challenging 10-game road trip. Currently, the Twins are 2-4 during this trip, having lost two series in Tampa Bay and Seattle. The team’s record on the road stands at 13-19 this season.

The Twins have fared well against AL West opponents this season, posting a 5-4 mark. Last year, they dominated the Athletics, going 6-1 which included a four-game sweep at Target Field.

Shortstop Jacob Wilson has emerged as a key player for the Athletics and is currently leading all MLB rookies with a .357 batting average, 80 hits, 32 RBIs, and 19 extra-base hits. Wilson’s performance has made him a favorite for the American League Rookie of the Year.

In contrast, the Athletics are struggling, having lost 17 of their last 18 games. They have a current home record of 9-19 in Sacramento, where their season has been marked by inconsistency.

As the series progresses, the Twins look to build momentum before returning home, while the Athletics aim to turn their season around. This matchup provides a critical opportunity for both teams to shift their fortunes.
