MILAN, Italy – June 2, 2025 – Theo Hernandez, the talented left-back of AC Milan, could be on his way to Saudi Arabia as reports indicate he may accept a lucrative contract with Al-Hilal. The Saudi Pro League club is prepared to offer Hernández an impressive salary of €18 million per season.

Hernandez’s future at AC Milan has been in doubt after the club instructed him to seek a new team. The 27-year-old’s contract currently runs until June 2026, but negotiations for an extension have stalled due to unrealistic salary demands, pushing the Rossoneri to look for alternatives.

With no viable offers from top European clubs, Hernandez is considering the proposition from Al-Hilal, which has also made a €30 million offer to acquire his services, significantly more than the €22.8 million Milan initially paid to bring him from Real Madrid in 2019.

In contrast, some reports from Sky Sport Italia mention that Al-Hilal’s bid could rise to €35 million. Hernandez has played a pivotal role in Milan’s success, notably in the club’s Serie A title-winning campaign, tallying five goals and six assists in 49 appearances this season.

While the deal appears promising for both clubs, Hernandez has yet to commit as he seems to prefer remaining in Europe, with Real Madrid and Manchester United also showing interest. Milan is already preparing for his potential departure by eyeing Juventus‘ Andrea Cambiaso to fill the gap.

Recent efforts by Al-Hilal to finalize a swift agreement may increase the pressure on Hernandez to make a decision before the FIFA Club World Cup commences in mid-June.
