U.S. DEA Denies Connection to Controversial Figure Ángel Martínez

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic – The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has clarified that Ángel Ramón de Jesús Martínez Jiménez has never worked for their agency, the FBI, or any other agency under the Department of Justice. This statement challenges the foundation of Martínez’s long-held claims of being a federal agent and intelligence analyst.
The DEA made the announcement through spokesperson Tony Velásquez, who emphasized that extensive background checks found no association between Martínez and federal law enforcement. This declaration comes in the wake of Martínez’s arrest on May 26 when he arrived in the Dominican Republic aboard a cruise ship.
Martínez faces serious allegations, including fraud and extortion, filed by Sandra Eugenia de la Rosa, who claims he defrauded her of over $300,000. She alleges that Martínez promised to resolve a legal issue using his supposed connections with the CIA and FBI.
In addition to De la Rosa’s accusations, several other public figures have lodged complaints against Martínez. These include Arnulfo de Jesús Gutiérrez, president of the National Equestrian Association, who accused him of blackmail, defamation, and slander, after Martínez publicly questioned his integrity.
Faride Raful, the Minister of Interior and Police, has also filed a defamation lawsuit against him. Various journalists and public officials have followed suit, including accusations regarding false claims of criminal ties.
The fallout from these allegations has led many to question Martínez’s credibility. As investigations continue, the public awaits further developments regarding these serious charges.
