Lewis Hamilton Struggles in Opening Races of Ferrari Tenure

BARCELONA, Spain — Lewis Hamilton‘s first season with Ferrari has not started as hoped. The seven-time world champion struggled during the recent Spanish Grand Prix, finishing behind Nico Hulkenberg, who drives for Sauber, in the final laps of the race.
Sky F1 commentator David Croft stated it is unlikely Hamilton will retire at the end of the F1 2025 season, despite speculation surrounding his future. Hamilton signed a multi-year contract with Ferrari, which is set to last until at least the end of the F1 2026 season.
During the first nine races of 2025, Ferrari has managed only three podium finishes. All were secured by Hamilton’s teammate, Charles Leclerc. Hamilton has yet to reach the podium in his nine races, raising questions about his performance in the new team.
Looking ahead, Hamilton is likely to ask Ferrari to focus their efforts on the F1 2026 car. The series will introduce significant rule changes next season, including new chassis and engine regulations that feature active aerodynamics and 50% electrification.
In a separate but notable development, Keke Rosberg, the 1982 World Champion and father of Nico Rosberg, shared his health struggles, revealing that he dealt with long Covid and eyesight issues.
Meanwhile, Max Verstappen is under scrutiny after his recent collision with George Russell. Verstappen has accumulated three penalty points, raising his total to 11, nearing a one-race ban if he surpasses 12.
As the racing season continues, Hamilton’s future at Ferrari remains a topic of discussion, with fans eager to see if he can turn his season around.
